Sea Fishing in Namibia

Namibia’s coastline offers some of the best fishing in the world. Byseewah can combine a hunting/photographic safari with a spot of recreational fishing.

Fish our Fantastic Coastline

Byseewah offers fully guided surf fishing trips. As someone once said, “You never know what will take your bait, once it is cast to the sea.” On Namibia’s coast, you could catch something edible such as a delicious Kabeljou, Galjoen, or Steenbras or you might bring in one of the shark species such as a Spotted Gully Shark or Copper shark, also known as a “bronzie.” Copper sharks on the Namibian coast can reach 180kg (nearly 400lbs), but a more normal sized specimen weights 80-100 kg (up to 200lbs).

Days are arranged to focus either on edible or shark species. All sharks as well as Steenbras weighing more than 12 kg (about 27 pounds) are catch and release. We use fully customized tackle to suit the client’s skill levels. Our guides will cast for clients, teach those keen to learn or just stand back and supervise the more skilled. Our guides have many years experience and some have represented Namibia at International level competitions for anglers. We are registered with the Namibian Tourist Board as Tour and Safari Operators.

We offer clients exactly what they are looking for and strive to make every fishing trip the experience of a lifetime. We recommend taking 3-4 days for fishing on the coast. Trips include all tackle bait, fishing license, packed lunches and soft drinks. Accommodation, meals, and drinks are provided at Cape Cross Lodge. We strongly observe a “no alcohol policy” on the beach for safety reasons.
